Baby Face and Hi!

I was busy scrappin yesterday and whipped out this layout and card. I've been waiting for just the right sketch to do the two pictures of my adorable daughter for a while. The pictures are old....2004. But, I'm catching up! The card was created using leftover scraps from the LO. I used the week 25 sketch from 52 Sketches for the Baby Face LO and this weeks card challenge from Paper Popsicles. TFL!

Nature's Wonders

Every year my second grade class studies the metamorphosis of a caterpillar to a butterfly. It really is amazing to watch and the kids absolutely love it. This year, our caterpillars arrived late. The kids were able to watch the caterpillars eat themselves silly and change into chrysallisis but that was it. On the last day of school I took home over thirty chrysallisis! Trinity and I were so excited to watch them emerge as butterflies. About a week later, the transformation began! It took about a week for all of the butterflies to emerge. After all that were going to make it made it (we only lost three!), we let them free in my mother's garden. It was amazing to watch them all fly free and head straight for the flowers! And, of course, I took pictures. Here is a layout I created to remember the awesomeness of the experience. I used the June sketch from Paper Popsicles. TFL!

Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day! Below is a slideshow of a mini-album created by my DD and I (well, mostly me) for my DH. I used a paper pack from that I got from WM for 5 bucks. I purchased two sets of "Dad" stickers, one from Me and My Big Ideas and the other from EK Success. The chipboard, eyelets, brads, buttons, ribbon, and ink were from my own stash. Enjoy!

Week 24 at 52 Weeks

So, I got behind again in my attempt to scrap every week with the sketch at 52 weeks. But, alas, I am back at it again. This layout is for the week 24 sketch. It doesn't follow the sketch exactly, but it was definitely inspired by the sketch! My fave part of this layout is the pink border which I cut the center out of to save paper. Then I crumpled it up to give it a worn look. I thought about distressing it with in...but I didn't have any blue ink and I think black would have been a bit much. Ooh, maybe pink ink would have worked. Oh, well. Maybe next time. TFL!

June Theme Challenge Week 2

Paper Popsicles has so many great inspirational challenges going on! This week's challenge was to create a graduation layout. It could be about yourself or someone else. I decided to go ahead and create a layout about my most recent graduation from the University of Alabama where I earned a Masters degree in Special Education. It was a rewarding yet difficult two year journey ~ one definitely worth celebrating! I used Teresa Collins Journal It papers. TFL!

Card Sketches at Paper Popsicles

I was so excited to see the addition of a card sketch challenge on the Paper Popsicles Blog! I just recently began making cards and find it so much easier to create using a sketch and I love Amy's sketches. Anyway, this card was created using the second card sketch from the blog. Again I used some old Creative Memories paper from my stash and I did a paper pieced cupcake. TFL!

Week 21 at 52 Sketches

I'd gotten behind on my weekly LOs using Julie's amazing sketches over at 52 sketches. With the end of the school year and all, I just couldn't keep up. So here I am posting last weeks LO this week! I rarely ever sketch about myself. It seems there are never any pictures of me (I know....I'm the one always taking the pictures). So instead of me I scrapped about my favorite things right now. TFL!
