Newest Creations

I created this little baby for the Summer ATC swap on the Paper Popsicles MB.My inspiration came from a Doodlebug Designs ad in one of my scrappy mags. I used glitter paper from DCWV, brown ink, and some bling. The images were hand drawn and hand cut! Lot-o-work!!! I love how they turned out!

I created this card for last weeks sketch on Let's Scrap. I used some scraps I had left over from Crate Paper ~ Lillian Collection. I loved that birdie paper and had to use every last piece!

And, finally, my creation for last weeks sketch (#28) at 52 Sketches. I've been waiting to get these pictures scrapped and this sketch just seemed to fit. I used a hand sewing technique I learned from the Paper Popsicles "How-To" forum for the border. I wanted to the angles to be funky and not a perfect square. Love how it turned out. I used paper from MME and Doodlebug Designs ~ added a little embroidery floss (well, alot) and brads. I created the flower by fan folding a strip of polka-dot paper and attaching a chipboard center. My first try at this flower. I know I'll be making many more of them!

Leave me a comment and let me know what you think! TFL!!!

Oops! How could I forget!

I guess I was having so much fun this weekend with the blog hop at Paper Popsicles and our visit to the zoo or just life that I forgot to post a couple of things! First is a card that I created with some scraps from my stash (don't you love using up those scraps!). I created this card for the week 1 challenge at Paper Popsicles...create a card using the summery colors of yellow and orange. Next is a layout I created using the Crate Paper Lillian Collection for Week 26 at 52 Sketches. Hope you like! Leave me a comment if you do! TFL!!

Yummy Blog Candy

Check out the blog candy that Melissa is giving away on her blog.

Oh, how I love SUMMERTIME!

I absolutely love that my profession allows me to be at home with my daughter during the summer. Many, many people like to hem and haw about how we teachers get summers off. Well, let me tell you, if it weren't for summers, there wouldn't be many teachers. That's not to say that the only reason we choose to teach is for the summers ~ hardly! The summer break is absolutely necessary. By the end of the school year, I am so ready to pack those kids up and send them anywhere. Teaching is exhausting, and burn-out comes to even those of us who really love what we do. Summer is the necessary renewal. Because by this time in the summer, I can feel the enthusiasm revving up. I'm starting to get excited about the new school year and the new ideas and experiences I have planned for my kiddos. But, for now, I can sit at home and just relax (and create!). Speaking of summer, I just completed this page using sketch #113 at Let's Scrap. I incorporated the week 2 challenge from Paper Popsicles and based my LO on something summery. And what is more summery that swimming! My DD has really turned into a fish, swimming like crazy, and loving every minute of it. The paper was just perfect to and even more so because I got it on sale (wahoo)! TFL!

Happy Birthday America!

I love the 4th ~ lazy day by the pool, warm summer night, BBQ, family and fireworks! How great is that? Too bad I can't add "sand between my toes and the sound of the ocean." Oh, well, there's always next year! Here's my latest layout using this weeks sketch from Let's Scrap. TFL!
