Feelin' the love

So I've put away my Christmas supplies (most of them, anyway) and am really enjoying working on some Valentine's Day projects.  Today I finished some 3x3 cards!  I got 24 cards made using 4 pieces of card stock and a stash of black and white scraps!

After that, I went to work on this weeks sketch from Sketches in Thyme (#100).  It was a super simple sketch that was fun to put together in a short amount of time!

Heaven's Got a Plan for You

I couldn't tell you the last time I created a layout for one of my own albums.  During the last year, I've created an album for my mom, created many 'naked' layouts, and lots of other paper projects....but none for myself.  So I went through my photos and found this single photo of my daughter from several years ago and decided to create a layout for myself.....it was nice!

The Dear Lizzy Neopolitan collection was a perfect fit for this picture.  The layout was inspired by a Creative Scrappers Sketch (Sketch #241).  I knew I wanted the title to be something about dreaming big, or reach for the stars or something like that.  Then Scrap That Chat bog came out with a challenge to use song lyrics.  The title "Don't You Worry Child, Heaven's Got a Plan for You" is lyrics from the Swedish House Mafia Song "Don't You Worry Child."  I think the song is beautiful and thought it matched the mood of this layout!

Winter Friends

Happy New Year!  I have truly enjoyed being at home with my family this holiday season!  Today is my last day before heading back to work and I plan on spending a good deal of the day creating!  Here is a card I created this morning using a sketch from catchthebugblog.blogspot.com.  It's a fun sketch that inspired me to create my own chevron pattern.

The chevron is not perfect...but I think it's pretty cute on this card.  The image is from fresh brewed designs...an old image that I'm not sure is even still available.  The patterned paper came from a Paper Studio stack.  This card also fits in with these challenges:

Inky Impressions - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp and Show - No Rules
Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes

Still Feeling the Christmas Spirit!

So, I've still got all my Christmas paper goodies scattered around my crafting area and I am still feeling the Christmas spirit!  I've been creating away!  Here's a layout I created using a couple of challenges.

All of these lovely papers came from the same Recollections stack with the addition of some white cardstock!  I used my Slice to cut the title, trees, and the deer.  This layout fits in the following challenges:

Merry Christmas

A few weeks ago, I was walking through Michael's looking for Christmas paper and ribbon when I met a fellow scrapper/paper crafter.  It is because of her that I felt a real need to get back on the blog.  I haven't posted anything on the blog since 2011 when our house was heavily damaged by a tornado.  Well, we've been back home for over a year now!  I have been crafting away....just not posting.  So anyway, here are some things that I've been working on this past month.  And Mrs. Joyce, thanks for motivating me to post!  It's so fun to meet people who are just as crazy about paper as me!

I hope to continue posting as I create!  I'd love to hear from you....so leave a comment!

So, that's why!!!

So, I've noticed that there have been visitors to my blog and I am sure that you all are wondering if I've given up my crafting or if I've simply dropped off the face of the earth.  Well, neither actually.  Our city (Tuscaloosa, AL) and our home were destroyed by the tornado outbreak on April 27, 2011.  Now, 3 months later, we are still surviving in an RV.

We have about 6-8 more weeks until our home repairs are complete and we can move back into our home.  I am very excited about the changes that we've been able to make to our home, especially the addition of our art room that will house all of my families crafts.  It has been an experience to say the least, but we are so very blessed and grateful to our friends and family who have been an invaluable support since the storm.
I have been lurking on the blogs for a couple of weeks now....getting inspired to create though my supplies are packed in a box somewhere in a storage room!!!  I've picked up a few things so I hope to get to put some things together soon.
For those of you who continue to stop by and check my blog....thanks for hanging around!  It means a lot!

Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday - CAS

Happy Saturday people!  It is a lovely morning here in Alabama and I am gearing up for a busy day.  But, before I hit the ground running, I want to share this weeks Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Challenge!

This week at Stamp, Scrap and Doodle the challenge is Clean and Simple (CAS)!  We have a great prize up for grabs from Glitz Designs!  We'd love to have you join in the fun!

For my CAS creation, I created a little envelope goodie bag.

To create this little goodie bag, I started with a regular A2 envelope.  I embossed the envelope with my Cuttlebug and used my Treading Water border punch on one side.  I tied it with ribbon and created the little handle with coordinating ribbon.  The image is a stamp in front of a scallop circle I cut using Spellbinders die.  I added a little paper grass and DONE!  If you'd like to see a tutorial of how to create this goodie bag, click HERE.

Come on over and create something with us this week at Stamp, Scrap, and Doodle!  We'd love to see what you create!

Thanks for stopping by!
