Hand painted lettering....

I just completed this project, a hand painted sign for some friends who just had their first child.  It was just this past spring that I discovered that I had a steady enough hand to paint lettering....since then I've been painting letters all over the place.  Here is the fruit of tedious labor...

Baby Girl Lapbook

I have finally finished this Baby Girl Lapbook that I have been working on for some time now.  I really love the way it turned out.  It's going to the store later today.
Thanks so much to Kathy Orta and her wonderful Lapbook Tutorial Series.....she made it super easy and super fun!

Sweet Summer!

I'm really trying to challenge myself....to use the paper I have instead of buying new.....it's really hard.  I created this layout using an old paper stack from We R Memory Keepers.  I used this month's sketch from Scrap That! to get it done!

I love, love, love these bright colors and fun patterns.  I fussy cut most of the flower embelishments with a few from my stash.

Happy 4th!

Happy Birthday, America!
I used this sketch from Sketches in Thyme (#115) to create this patriotic 2-page layout!  The paper is from the Paper Studio.  I created the circle/star embellishments with scraps of paper and stitching.  I used washi tape, stickers from DoodleBug Designs and Recollections bling to add to my embelli  clusters.  The candy cane paper clip is from Smash!

Oh, Baby!

Hello!  I wanted to stop in and share what I've been creating lately.  I work in a school that currently has 5 babies under the age of 1 and two more on the way.  Needless to say, I've had lots of motivation to create this cute little baby album.  I used a plain $1 photo album as the base for this mini.  The paper is from DCWV Baby Boy stack with kraft card stock.  The pages are really interactive and have hidden pockets and lots of room to add photos or other little bits of memorabilia.  This paper stack is just adorable and so far I have been able to create this mini, another mini (which I will showcase another day) and I still have plenty left for a few layouts and cards!  Thanks for stopping by!

Feelin' the love

So I've put away my Christmas supplies (most of them, anyway) and am really enjoying working on some Valentine's Day projects.  Today I finished some 3x3 cards!  I got 24 cards made using 4 pieces of card stock and a stash of black and white scraps!

After that, I went to work on this weeks sketch from Sketches in Thyme (#100).  It was a super simple sketch that was fun to put together in a short amount of time!

Heaven's Got a Plan for You

I couldn't tell you the last time I created a layout for one of my own albums.  During the last year, I've created an album for my mom, created many 'naked' layouts, and lots of other paper projects....but none for myself.  So I went through my photos and found this single photo of my daughter from several years ago and decided to create a layout for myself.....it was nice!

The Dear Lizzy Neopolitan collection was a perfect fit for this picture.  The layout was inspired by a Creative Scrappers Sketch (Sketch #241).  I knew I wanted the title to be something about dreaming big, or reach for the stars or something like that.  Then Scrap That Chat bog came out with a challenge to use song lyrics.  The title "Don't You Worry Child, Heaven's Got a Plan for You" is lyrics from the Swedish House Mafia Song "Don't You Worry Child."  I think the song is beautiful and thought it matched the mood of this layout!

Winter Friends

Happy New Year!  I have truly enjoyed being at home with my family this holiday season!  Today is my last day before heading back to work and I plan on spending a good deal of the day creating!  Here is a card I created this morning using a sketch from catchthebugblog.blogspot.com.  It's a fun sketch that inspired me to create my own chevron pattern.

The chevron is not perfect...but I think it's pretty cute on this card.  The image is from fresh brewed designs...an old image that I'm not sure is even still available.  The patterned paper came from a Paper Studio stack.  This card also fits in with these challenges:

Catchthebugblog.blogspot.com - sketch
Fresh Brewed - Anything Goes
Inky Impressions - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp and Show - No Rules
Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes
Pause, Dream, Enjoy - Anything Goes
